July 6,2008 "Senior Pentagon officials are concerned that Israel could carry out an attack on Iran's nuclear facilities before the end of the year, an action that would have enormous security and economic repercussions for the United States and the rest of the world. A senior defense official told ABC News there is an 'increasing likelihood' that Israel will carry out such an attack, a move that likely would prompt Iranian retaliation against, not just Israel, but against the United States as well. The official identified two 'red lines' that could trigger an Israeli offensive. The first is tied to when Iran's Natanz nuclear facility produces enough highly enriched uranium to make a nuclear weapon. According to the latest U.S. and Israeli intelligence assessments, that is likely to happen sometime in 2009, and could happen by the end of this year. 'The red line is not when they get to that point, but before they get to that point,' the official said. 'We are in the window of vulnerability.' The second red line is connected to when Iran acquires the SA-20 air defense system it is buying from Russia."

June 29,2008 There is concern among the intelligence officials that nuclear weapons from North Korea or Pakistan could fall into the wrong hands. Pakistan has between 65 and 90 nuclear weapons in its arsenal. In recent months, political unrest in the Islamic nation seems to have spiraled out of control. Pakistan has been described as "the most dangerous country on earth" and the outcome of Pakistan's internal conflict could have global repercussions. Pakistan is considered to be a "frontline ally" in the war against terrorism. Yet despite the government's official cooperation with the United States, the anti-American sentiment in Pakistan runs deep. Pakistan is home to many Islamist extremists, some with links to al-Qaeda and other terrorist groups. Many Taliban and al-Qaeda fighters fleeing from Afghanistan have taken refuge throughout Pakistan - particularly in lawless tribal regions on the Afghan border which are sympathetic to the fundamentalist cause.

June 22,2008 The weak dollar has spurred foreign investment in the US, highlighting the United States' increasing dependence on foreign capital. The increase in foreign direct investment has also prompted concerns over the sale of key US businesses and other critical infrastructure such as ports, power plants, and telecommunications networks.

Foreign buyers poured almost 55 billion dollars into US commercial real estate last year - that's about double the amount of 2006. High profile investments, such as the sale of the Chrysler Building, have brought attention to the rise in foreign investment. Direct foreign investment in US businesses reached about 280 billion dollars last year . making 2007 the second highest year on record.

June 15,2008 RENO, Nev. (AP) - A month-long swarm of earthquakes picked up again Sunday as a string of minor temblors rattled Reno, causing downtown high-rises to sway and knocking items off walls and shelves. Nevada is the third most seismically active state in the U.S. behind California and Alaska. Reno.s last major quake measured 6.1 on April 24, 1914..For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. (Matt. 24:7)

June 1,2008 With a record number of tornadoes, the increasing number of earthquakes, the rise in gas prices (because of our dependence on oil from the Middle East), and escalating trouble in the Holy Land, it's time to take the prophetic Word seriously. God in all His grace and mercy is giving mankind a "heads up" for what's coming so humanity can turn to Him in repentance and receive His Son whom He sent to redeem mankind. Jesus puts it this way, "Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man." (Luke 21:36)

May 25,2008 Jesus predicted that one of the major signs that tell us we are approaching the end of the age is earthquakes. Note the following from United States Geological Survey (USGS) The figures reveal a definable upward trend in earthquakes of 7.0 or greater on the Richter Scale over the last few decades:
Decade of the 70's: 44 EQ 7.0 or greater on the RS
Decade of the 80's: 105 EQ 7.0 or greater on the RS [58,880 est. Deaths]
Decade of the 90's: 154 EQ 7.0 or greater on the RS [114,646 est. Deaths]
Decade of the 00's: 186 EQ 7.0 or greater on the RS [427,332 Deaths]1/2 to go.

May 18,2008 There is no doubt that the Holy Bible is God's Word! As prophesied, the nation of Israel has been reborn and, among many prophetic signs pointing toward the soon-coming return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, scores of thousands of people whose bodies haven't even been gathered for burial yet are lying dead in China and Myanmar as a result of events prophesied to occur in the latter days! How much longer will it be until we see Jesus Christ face-to-face? It's hard to say but with the ever-growing prophetic evidence  I simply can't imagine that Christ's return is anything other than at the very door! That's why CC Lafayette is doing everything we can to sound the alert that Jesus Christ is coming soon to a lost and dying world.

May 11,2008 The rapture will have a dramatic impact on the rest of the world, but it won.t mean total calamity. Because Christians only make up a small percentage of the population of most nations, they won.t experience the anarchy that will likely sweep over the U.S. and North America. The rapture for Europe will barely cause a ripple where only about 2% of the population can be counted as believers. Bible scholars have long wondered why the United State is not mentioned in prophecy. Perhaps the rapture meltdown could be the reason Uncle Sam is missing from the end-time scenario.

April 27,2008 GLENN BECK ASKS IF GLOBAL FOOD SHORTAGES AND THE ENERGY CRISIS ARE SIGNS OF THE LAST DAYS? Joel Rosenberg responded on Glenn's show this week: .It is, actually. (Rosenberg says), you have to be careful. We don't want to over react and take every headline that's in the news and say, That's end time prophecy. But Jesus was asked very specifically by his disciples in Matthew Chapter 24, and Luke Chapter 21, ".. when are you coming back and what are the things that we should be watching for?" Jesus said, wars and the rumors of wars, also famines i.e. global food shortages. Could this be the kind that we have seen over the years in Sudan and Ethiopia or sub-Saharan Africa? We should be watching for trends of food shortages and, of course, hyper inflation and other things that go with it. When you get to the book of Revelation, you see all kinds of economic disasters and food shortages..

April 20,2008 In Bible prophecy, we're told that the city of Jerusalem is going to be a burdensome stone to the world and a cup of trembling (Zechariah 12:2-3).  Prior to 1948, Israel wasn't around but it arrived as prophesied. Prior to 1967, Israel didn't have possession of Jerusalem but now it does!  A plan designed to appease Israel's enemies and give them what they desperately want - possession of the city of Jerusalem is in the making.
According to WorldNetDaily, the United States has proposed a plan to divide Jerusalem which, among other things, calls for Israel to eventually forfeit parts of the Temple Mount, Judaism's holiest site!

April 13,2008 Israel would destroy Iran if attacked::
"An Iranian attack against Israel would trigger a tough reaction that would lead to the destruction of the Iranian nation," National Infrastructure Minister Benjamin Ben-Eliezer said in remarks of rare virulence. "Iranians are aware of our strength but continue to provoke us by arming their Syrian allies and Hezbollah," he said during a meeting at his ministry. Ben-Eliezer, a member of Prime Minister Ehud Olmert's security cabinet, stressed however that the Iranians were unlikely to attack as "they understand the meaning of such an act".

April 6,2008 INCREASE IN KNOWLEDGE AND TRAVEL:
Daniel 12:4 "But as for you, Daniel, conceal these words and seal up the book until the end of time; many will go back and forth, and knowledge will increase."
More knowledge has been discovered in the last century than in all of history combined. 90% of all the engineers or scientists who have ever lived are alive today (quoted from Billy Graham).

March 30,2008 Iran and the Gog Coalition
Ezekiel 38-39 is the famous Biblical prophecy that predicts an end time war commonly known as the Battle of Gog and Magog. Ezekiel 38:5 says that Iran will be part of this end time coalition of nations that will invade Israel and "cover the land like a cloud." Current developments in Iran and its neighboring nations indicate that the Gog coalition could be forming before our eyes. The major nation who leads this coalition is Russia. Gog means leader and Magog is the land from which Gog comes. Language experts say that can only mean Russia.

March 16,2008 Unless you ride a bicycle to work each day, you are probably aware that gasoline prices have been rising sharply in the past few weeks. Gasoline pump prices have hit a new record of $3.26 a gallon. There are already plenty of cracks in our financial dike. Several oil states are starting to question the soundness of using the American currency for their oil trades. The United Arab Emirates has just announced that they have put together a task force to discuss de-linking their currency from the dollar. Last year, Kuwait surprised the markets by unhooking their currency from the dollar. Qatar is also thinking of making a similar move. Wall Street analysts are predicting we could soon see crude trading above the $200 a barrel level.
Oil is a finite resource that is essential to all modern industrial nations. The Bible predicts that global conflict will arise in the last days as all major powers send their armies toward the Middle East. The final battle, just before Christ.s return, could simply be a struggle over who controls the supply of oil.

March 9,2008 "Now learn the parable from the fig tree (Israel/Jews): when its branch has already become tender and puts forth its leaves (Israel became a nation in 1948 and regained control of Jerusalem in 1967), you know that summer is near; so, you too, when you see all these things (Prophetic Signs), recognize that He is near, {right} at the door. "Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place. March 2,2008 One of the greatest defenses to prove the accuracy of the Bible is Bible Prophecy. Not only did the hundreds of predictions about Christ.s first coming come to pass literally, but so many of the predictions about His second coming are in the process of being fulfilled. Case in point: ISRAEL!
The Bible predicts in numerous passages that Israel will return and be born again as a nation (Isaiah 11:11; 66:8; Ezekiel 36:34) just prior to the second coming. Furthermore the Bible gives clear signs of trouble in the world over Jerusalem (Zachariah 12:2,3) . The Middle East, Israel, and Jerusalem is the focus of world attention today just as the Bible predicted.

February 24,2008 News out of Israel from the Golden Report:  Daily now we read of the escalation of Russian missiles being moved into Syria, these are missiles capable of reaching any part of Israel and capable of carrying chemical, biological or nuclear warheads.  So once again we see and hear the war drums sounding very loudly.  It could be that Isaiah 17:1 is right around the corner for one thing is certain, Israel would be hard spent to fight two wars on two fronts if Hamas and Egypt in the south and Syria and Hezbollah in the north coordinated their attack, and for those who think Egypt won.t join in the attack have another thought coming.  And before Israel goes down to these blood thirsty Islamic murderers the whole world will hear and know of a big bang in Syria and God only knows where else.  But a lot of Arab Countries could very quickly be turned into glass factories with all that sand under such heat. 

February 10,2008 British Prime Minister Gordon Brown has begun secret talks with other world leaders on far-reaching reform of the United Nations Security Council as part of a drive to create a "new world order" and "global society".

February 3,2008 With such huge holes in their balance sheets (Citigroup Inc. with a $19.1 billion & Merrill Lynch & Co. with $15 billion) , these firms have been courting foreign money to stay afloat and the funds have been largely flowing in from the Middle East and Asia. Last year, foreign investors poured a record $414 billion into securing stakes in American companies, factories, and  properties.  Millions of Americans now work for foreign companies set up in the United States. The Bible reveals that that when God chooses a nation for his special purpose and that nation rejects Him, that nation will have foreigners to rule over them. This happened to ancient Israel, and is beginning to happen in America.

>January 27,2008 The black horseman of the Book of Revelation speaks of a condition wherein a man's daily wages are so poor, he can barely support himself, much less his family. For the first time in the history of mankind we are seeing a condition which could fulfill that prophecy: global monetary inflation. Though the church will be in heaven when this prophecy is fulfilled we see the shadow of that time falling on the earth now, especially with the current volatile economic situation and the rapid decline of the American dollar. Look for more stop gap measures to prop up our economy until a new kind of currency is introduced.

January 20,2008 The world wide Jewish population in 2007 is estimated at 13.2 million people, a rise of some 200,000 over 2006, according to a Jewish People Policy Planning Institute report.
In the past year, Israel.s Jewish population rose by 300,000. Israel is now the home of 41 percent of worldwide Jewry, the report said. (5.4 MILLION JEWS IN ISRAEL)

January 13,2008 We must urge President Bush and Prime Minister Olmert to protect -- not divide -- Jerusalem. We must also urge the President, Prime Minister and Palestinian Chairman Mahmoud Abbas to aggressively fight radical Palestinian terrorism, and specifically stop the rockets that keep getting fired from Gaza into southern Israeli border towns and cities such as Sderot and Ashkelon. What's more, we must urge all of these leaders to fight to protect the human rights, civil rights, freedom of the press and religious freedom of all Israelis and Palestinians, especially Palestinian evangelical Christians in the West Bank and Gaza who are being targeted, threatened and attacked on a daily basis.

January 6,2008 The Magog Invasion
Many experts believe that a large-scale confrontation between Israel and its neighbors could be on the near horizon. Many experts have predicted that Israel could go to war with either Syria or Iran in the near future. Tensions between Israel and its enemies have increased significantly in recent months, making Syria and Iran's growing alliance with nuclear-capable nations like Russia and North Korea all the more concerning. These developments could be a sign that the famed battle prophesied in Ezekiel 38 and 39 is on our near horizon. It is during this battle, that God will directly intercede to protect Israel from Magog and its allies.
Russia has repeatedly expressed a desire to play a larger role in the Middle East, at the same time its diplomatic relationship with the EU and US has soured. In July Russia announced that it is withdrawing from a key treaty regulating conventional armed forces in Europe. It has also threatened to pull out of its 1987 treaty with the United States banning intermediate range nuclear forces. Over the summer Russia resumed bomber drills near North America, prompting the US military to scramble its fighter jets on at least seven different occasions. The political friction building between Russian and the Western World has raised speculation that we could once again be plunged into a Cold War scenario. Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin(Time Magizine's "Man Of The Year") is prohibited by law from running for a third consecutive term. However Putin has no plans for retirement. He has hand-picked his successor and is likely to be given the post of Prime Minister after stepping down as President.
